A captivating expression of old-vine Barossa Grenache, the 2021 Church Block Grenache combines richness, elegance and remarkable poise. Patiently matured for four years in seasoned French oak before bottling, this limited release reflects our commitment to crafting wines of depth, complexity and longevity.
Grown on red-brown earth over red clay, the wine opens with lifted aromas of dark cherry, wild raspberry and plum, interwoven with warm spice, cocoa and subtle earthy nuances. The palate is generous yet finely composed, revealing layers of dark berry fruit, savoury complexity and silky tannins that carry through to a long, persistent finish.
Crafted using small open fermenters, cold soaking and minimal intervention, the extended barrel maturation has enhanced the wine’s texture and integration while allowing the distinctive character of the Church Block vineyard to shine.
Beautifully balanced and expressive today, it will continue to evolve gracefully through to 2042.
